Our first Halloween party was at Grandma Grossen’s.  She always makes a fun night for us with games and prizes.  We all lucked out with a few more gift cards to use on our Disney Cruise.  You can’t beat that!  And isn’t Brittany so creative?  I was seriously so impressed.

Our kids really got in to the pumpkin carving this year.  They had some major opinions about what we should carve.  And Jack was insistent that he wanted to make his own real jack-o-lantern.  I thought it was pretty cute.  We even got Luke to touch the pumpkin guts.  Our other 2 kids at this age were not a fan, but he didn’t seem to mind.  Don’t you just love Dan’s Doc Brown pumpkin from Back to the Future?  He is a carving master!

Halloween morning we spent at Jack’s school watching the kids Halloween parade.  It was pretty cute.  And there were at least 200 girls dressed up as Elsa.  Haha…  Jack thought it was pretty cool to have us there.  And all I could think is, “This will be my life for the next 10+ Halloweens.”  I can’t believe I have a kid in school!

I’m not sure how we did it, but we lucked out again this year with great weather on Halloween night.  We were invited to a party in our old neighborhood so we started the night there among our great friends.  It was really hard to leave and drive to the new neighborhood to do the trick-or-treating.  But we wanted to establish our new traditions.  When we got back home, the streets were pretty quiet.  It seemed we missed the peak hour (6 pm) for knocking doors.  But we still made the most of it.  Sophie wore out quickly so we headed home sooner than I thought we would.  But we still made out with more candy than we needed.  The kids love Halloween!  They sure make it fun for me every year.

Fall Break

Now that we have a kid in school we really have to take advantage of when he has breaks.  So when Jack had 3 days off from school in October we traveled to one of our favorite destinations…Boise!  We always love our time there.  The kids absolutely love being together.  They are as wild as can be but really do get along great.  We enjoyed going to the pumpkin patch together and watching Isaac’s soccer game.  My poor brother, Ryan, has started school again so he was locked in his room a good amount of the time.  So sad.  But he did make time for at least one card game!  Thanks Cosby’s for having us once again!

Fall festivities

Oh this blog…I am determined to get caught up and yet, I am so far behind.  Sigh…

We had an absolutely lovely October here in Utah.  The weather was amazing.  We were still wearing short sleeves and walking Jack to and from school most days.  It was so nice.  We took advantage of the great weather and did some of our usual fall outings.

The Red Barn

We ventured down to Santaquin for our annual trip to the Red Barn.  It is so fun there.  Every year they have added a new fun activity for the kids to do it.  This year it was the riding tractors.  They could not get enough.  Luke loved searching for pumpkins.  He was the cutest kid at the patch I think.  We enjoyed ice cream and apple cider donuts afterwards and took home 2 gallons of fresh apple juice…YUM!

Pumpkin Walk

The Pumpkin Walk in Logan is becoming such a fun tradition.  I can’t believe that every year we have gone we have had such fabulous weather.  It was plenty warm this year too.  The creations from pumpkins and other squash are amazing.  We loved that the Lego movie and Frozen made it this year!  Sophie was obsessed with the cardboard cutouts.  It was by far her favorite part!

Lehi Beauty

It is true that I was not excited about living in Lehi.  It just sounds so Mormon.   That is horrible to say because I love being Mormon.  But for a California girl, living in Utah has already taken away some of my pride, and then to live in Lehi on top of that!  Oy!  Hahaha…but we have had some beautiful scenes here.  One morning the sunrise was to die for in our neck of the woods.  And I was not the only person outside taking pictures.  It was unbelievably beautiful.  And it was super fun to watch these bushes in our front yard turn to this beautiful shade of red in the fall.  Loved every second of it!
