We haven’t been up to much lately.  Just watching the days get warmer and longer.  It is my favorite!  And I can see my daffodils and the 90 tulip bulbs I planted in the fall coming in.  I can’t wait to see what colors they all are if the deer don’t get to them first.  I will curse those deer if they do.  Anyway…life is good and here’s the proof.

The kids built a fort one day and spent a good portion of the morning in there.  You do what you have to when the outside is covered in snow.

It was supposed to be 50 degrees this day so I couldn’t resist putting Sophs in some of her new adorable spring attire.  And she can’t resist playing “check-up” with anything and everyone.  I think all of her doctor visits have had quite an impact on her young life.  Future doctor??  We’ll see…  You want to know the cutest thing she is saying these days?!?  When you say “Thanks Sophie”  She says “You’re helper” instead of “You’re Welcome”.  It is my favorite.  I don’t ever want her to grow out of it.

A little story time with Daddy never hurts.  Nor does a picture of Sophie’s huge post dinner belly.  Love it.

This boy is always up to something.  And yes…he is his “comfys” for a good portion of the day.  I have noticed as he has been dressing himself more lately (one of his chores) that he always picks stretchy waisted pants to wear….never jeans.  They learn young what is comfortable!  I decided this last library trip to check out some chapter books to read to Jack.  We finished James and the Giant Peach in 5 days and are now on to Stuart Little.  He is loving it.  Although I did have to do a little editing since the A-word appears 3 times in that book.  Not quite ready to explain those kind of words since at the moment “stupid” is the worst word he knows!

After our perfect dentist check-up we celebrated with Cafe Rio.  And Jack ate a whole burrito by himself.  I can’t keep up with this kid.  He has a huge appetite lately.  I’m doomed when he’s a teenager.

We went on a double curling date with James and Kerri last weekend.  It was awesome.  I was beyond terrified at first cause the teacher repeatedly was warning us about slipping on the ice and our brain coming out all over.  There has to be a better way to say that without paralyzing people with crippling fear.  I was sure I was going to be one of those people.  Alas I am dramatic! But once I got the hang of it and that I could be as slow as I wanted, I loved it.  We are heading to our second lesson in a couple of weeks.

And finally on Jacob’s birthday we swung by for a short visit.  We love him and my grandpa and can’t wait to see them again someday.

  1. I have always wanted to try curling…it looks fun to me! Can’t wait to see you and your kiddos in a few days 🙂

  2. Toby goes through spurts. Last week he ate everything in the house and this week he refuses to eat anything. Dang this kids. I love Sophie’s post dinner belly. I want to poke it. But with a stick and not my hand in case she throws up.

We get Toby jeans from Gymboree/Crazy 8 that have an elastic/cloth waistband instead of buttons. They stay up better than the Walmart/Target ones but they’re more comfy for him (with his random sensory issues, we figured out early on that he needed to have not-buttons or he’d tantrum more easily.)

  3. That belly is definitely from the Cosby/Wright side of the family because that is how all of our kiddies looked. They do grow out of it but then it seems to return again in the adult years. Ha! Ha!
Definitely would like to try the curling. Wow, Jack a whole burrito–sounds so yummy and to think I always get a salad when I’m there. I think I am really missing out.
Love the fort idea. Kids just seem to love that. Looks like everyone is having fun!

  4. Hurray for chapter books! It’s a lot of fun. And man, a whole burrito…that is crazy for that little guy. I sure wish our kids could hang out more!! Oh, and I love your comment on curling and your brain falling out all over the place. It reminds me of the time I went white water rafting. I thought I was going to get sucked and stuck under water, or hit my brain on some rocks with the warnings they were giving us. It was a man made course too!

  5. Thank goodness for warmer weather, huh? I wish I had planted tulips…maybe this fall I will get around to it! I can’t believe Jsck will throw down an entire burrito himself..that is crazy! Glad you had fun on your curling date! And thanks for always visiting Jacob for us! 🙂

  6. Looks like you’re having lots of fun! Cute kiddos, as usual. We’re into chapter books also… kids grow up so fast! Sophie and Sydney can go to med school together 🙂 Same interests in seems.
